Germany are coming into this match as one of the best teams participating in the FIBA World Cup, following their preparation. They did not disappoint though, as they were able to prove this, during their campaign in the group stage. The German squad dominated Japan during their opener, having a 81-63 opener, which is positive for them. Moreover, during their second game, they were fortunate that they escaped the might of Australia. It was a late thriller 82-85 win against Australia, that helped Germany secure their spots in the next round. On that match, it is not surprising that Dennis Schroder was able to provide them the leadership they need. He showed the talent and the strength he has, which is one of the main reasons for their wins. As they come into this match, Germany is aiming for a 3-0 finish to keep their momentum going for the next round.

The Germans remain to be without Maxi Kleber, but they may be boosted with the possible return of Franz Wagner. During their match against Australia, he was not able to play despite being included in the line-up. However, for this match, he will likely play already, as his injury remains to be closely monitored.

Finland on the other hand is the complete opposite of Germany, to the disappointment of some of their fans. They remain to be winless in their group, despite being one of the teams with a player from the NBA. Due to their results, they are now facing an early elimination, to the surprise of their fans. This is not surprising though, as they played a poor quality of basketball, this their results. Finland first loss against Australia in a 98-72 loss, which is not a good opener for them. Finland were already leading by double-digit, but the Finns were not able to protect their lead. In the end, the Japanese squad came out victorious, in a 98-88 loss for Finland. Although it seems harder, Finland are aiming to at least win here to end their campaign positively.

Lauri Markkanen will continue to be the key player for Finland as they aim to win here. Moreover, they are fortunate that they have no injured guys coming into this game.
