Tottenham Hotspur resumes top four aims

Tottenham Hotspur aims to continue to be a hot team in the Premier League when they meet with Everton. In the league table, the Spurs is at the fifth with 49 points, however, a win in this match could bring them at the top four. They are just a point behind from the third and fourth team. Everton on the other hand is in-need of wins as they are at the 18th of the league table with just 26 points. They are in the drop zone, which is why they need an additional three points. This meeting will be on April 4, 2023, at 3:00 AM (GMT+8), as Everton play as hosts.

Historically, it was the visitors who has more wins against the hosts during their meetings. These two teams have played 185 matches, and the visitors have won 70 of those, while the hosts won just 57. Additionally, when it comes to the last 20 matches these two teams played, the hosts only have one win. Their last win was way back in 2020, where they were able to record a 1-0 win. The visitors on the other hand have kept 24 clean sheets against the hosts, where they gain confidence from. However, the hosts are doing well at home, winning three of their last home matches in the league.

The Spurs are just a point away from entering the top four of the Premier League, as they aim for a spot in the Champions League. They are at the fifth, however, their main issue now is their inconsistencies this season. This is what they need to address in order to win their upcoming matches and reach their aim. On their last match in the league, they were held into a 3-3 draw against Southampton. With that, they need to work hard to be able to bounce back in this match. This is not impossible though as they are one of the most exciting teams recently, as they revive their campaign. Harry Kane and Son Heung-Min are expected to lead the Spurs and be at their best in this match.

Richarlison, and Ivan Perisic are both a doubt for the Spurs in this game. Meanwhile, Ryan Sessegnon, Ben Davies, Rodrigo Bentancur, and Emerson Royal are both ruled out in this match due to their health issues.

Everton on the other hand is placed at the 18th of the league table with just 26 points across their names. As they are currently at the drop zone, they are aiming for a win in this match to escape the drop zone. It is not impossible though as the team at the 17th is also with 26 points. A win in this game could place them at the 13th or 14th of the league table, which they are aiming for. Additionally, they have shown improvements in their campaign recently, which is why a win is not impossible for them. Everton is a team who is capable of pulling an upset for their opponents. With that, they are hopeful to get another win against the Spurs, and grab the opportunity of playing at home.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin remains to be unavailable for Everton, while James Garner is expected to be used in this match after coming back from injury.
