SMB, TNT, who will take home the crown?

From 12 teams down to the last two teams as the PBA starts the final series between SMB and TNT. It will be a battle of the number one and the defending champions which made this series more exciting. Before going back to zero during the semifinals, it was these two teams who had the twice-to-beat advantage. They are the tops one and two at the end of the eliminations.

SMB is looking to finally add a title on their names after not being able to win a championship for the past two years. The trades of Arwind Santos and Alex Cabagnot is a big loss to the team, which is why it took them time to adjust. On the other hand, TNT does not have a good start this conference because of the absence of Mikey Williams. However, when Williams arrived, it is the start for a dominating conference for TNT.

After the eliminations, SMB ended up being the top one in the standing during the eliminations. This team have a great defense and offense, actually, in the offensive area, their team topped the league with 101.7 points per game. Moreover, this team do not only rely on their starters as they have a deep bench along with them. Although SMB was not able to win the Game 1 of this series, it is expected that they will bounce back and play better.

Although SMB’s “death five” is no longer there, three of which is still with the team. Junemar Fajardo, Marcio Lassiter, and Chris Ross are expected to orchestrate the team. Guys like CJ Perez, and Terrence Romeo are more likely to contribute as well.

TNT’s journey to the finals is not easy as they had a rough start in the conference, but the arrival of Mikey Williams made TNT to play more as a group. During the eliminations, this team ended being the second to SMB, with an 8-3 record. For the defending champions, going against SMB is a tough challenge especially against the six-time MVP playing for their opponent. However, despite the opponent’s advantage, veterans of TNT especially Jayson Castro proves that there is no way you can underestimate them. Their Game 1 win is a huge boost for the team, all they have to do is to be consistent

Mikey Williams, and Jayson Castro will surely lead the team as their main guys. Moreover, RR Pogoy, Troy Rosario, and Poy Erram is expected to step-up and contribute well for TNT.
