San Miguel, Meralco, in a do-or-die situation

It will be a do-or-die for the Meralco Bolts and San Miguel Beermen as both teams will try to clinch to the finals. The way this series turned out is a bit surprising especially the Bolts after they were able to tie this series. Many expected the Beermen to have an easy fight, but the Bolts’ defense is just too much for them.

Beermen played terribly during the game 6 of this series, while the Bolts were quick to take advantage of the turnovers of their opponents. The Bolts managed to have a late rally during the final moments in the 4th Quarter which gave them the victory. During the early quarters in Game 6, the Beermen were able to take a 15-point lead, but they were not able to take care of their lead. Bolts starts climbing back during the 3rd quarter until they took the lead and win.

Coming to this series, it is always believed that the Beermen will secure the finals spot. The team had a strong regular season, and is the favorites to win the title this conference. For the quarterfinals, they had an easy journey as they eliminated Blackwater in just a game since they have the twice-to-beat advantage. But the Bolts pushed them to their limit which is a little unexpected to them.

The team planned to end the series on their last game, but they lost against their opponent which is clearly not in their game plan. Chris Ross could have made a huge difference defensively but his fouls hurt their team badly. He played less than 20 minutes but already tallied for five fouls. On their do-or-die game, the Beermen will surely bounce back with the leadership of Junemar Fajardo, Marcio Lassiter, and Chris Ross. Guys like Rodney Brondial, Simon Enciso, and CJ Perez are also expected to contribute.

The Bolts on the other hand managed to surprise many. They surprised the fans when they were able to defeat their rival, Brgy. Ginebra. For this series, they made it as interesting as possible. From a one-game deficit, they managed to tie the series, three to three. Only a couple of minutes remaining when the Beermen had a 10-point lead, but Aaron Black came to rescue his team. They had a 16-2 run against the Beermen.

Chris Newsome, Aaron Black, and Raymond Almazan is expected to continuously be the main guys for the Bolts. Normal Black, their head coach is confident that his guys can manage to pull-off a surprise once again.
