The hosts are currently impressive across all competitions, especially their last match against Copenhagen. It is not surprising though as they are currently the second in the Premier League, and can be on top if they win this match. Meanwhile, as for the visitors, they are now in the 16th place in the league table. They only won once in their 13 matches against the hosts. Man City managed to extend their winning streak in all competitions to five matches. Just recently, they were able to have a comfortable win against their opponent. As they return to the Premier League, they are the remaining team which is unbeaten from their opening eight matches. In their last Premier League match, they won against Man United in a 6-3 victory at home. Despite a good record, this squad is still wary of the threat their next opponent pose. However, it is good that they have a very good home record as they are currently in a 15-game unbeaten run at home.

For this match, there is a tendency that their manager will opt to sit out and rest their key players in preparation for their match against Liverpool. Additionally, they will also be without Kalvin Philips, John Stones, and Kyle Walker because of their own injuries. Luckily, Rodri could possibly come back for them. He already recovered from his minor injury, making him possibly debut in this game.

This squad has the opposite fate with their opponent as thy suffered their third consecutive defeats in the Premier League. As they face Man City, they are put into a tough test as they are 14 place below their opponent. Additionally, they must be back on winning ways to avoid being eliminated in the tournament. They can gain confidence from the fact that they scored six in their last seven games at the Etihad. If they are fortunate enough, this streak could continue, and go to their winning ways.

Valentino Livramento and Romeri Lavia are both sidelined because of their ACL and muscle injury respectively. Luckily for them, Lavia’s return is inching closer as he gets better and better recently. With his absence, Gavin Bazunu could step-up and do Lavia’s role for the team.
