Liverpool resumes dominance

Liverpool looks to extend their confidence after a dominating win in their previous match, as they meet AFC Bournemouth. It was a surprising 7-0 win against Man United on their last match, which boosted their confidence in this game. As for Bournemouth, they are coming from a 3-2 loss against league leaders, Arsenal. It seems like they are having a hard time to adjust to the level of competitiveness in the top flight. These two teams are far from each other in the league table. While Liverpool is at the fifth spot, Bournemouth is at the 20th, the most bottom in the league table. This meeting will be on March 11, 2023, at 8:30 PM (GMT+8), as Bournemouth host Liverpool.

These two teams already had 18 face-off against each other, and it was the visitors who has a huge advantage. From those 18 meetings, the hosts only had one win, while the visitors are with 14 victories. Three draws on the other hand have been made between these two teams. Playing at home looks to be an advantage for the hosts as they only recorded five of their 14 defeats at home. However, they are without a clean sheet in their last 14 games in the league. On the other hand, the visitors won their last seven league games, and are hopeful to continue this record. However, playing on the road seems to be a problem for them, as six of their seven defeats are coming from the road.

Liverpool actually started their season slow, but recently, it looks like they have now found their game. They are now at the fifth spot with 42 points, and continue aiming for a top four finish. If they will be lucky enough to have a top four finish, they can book a ticket in the Champions League. This is not impossible though, as they are from a dominating win, giving them confidence to play in this match. On their previous match, they thrashed Man United in a 7-0 league outing. Darwin nunez, Cody Gakpo, and Mohamed Salah all scored double, before Roberto Firmino’s lone goal. Additionally, in their last three games, Liverpool is an unbeaten squad, and have won four of their last five games. With confidence, they are hoping for another win in this game.

Thiago Alcantara, Luis Diaz, and Calvin Ramsay remains to be unavailable in this game as they are still in the treatment roon. Since Arthur undergo a thigh injury, he is not yet considered to be a first-team selection. Moreover, it is still a doubt if Joe Gomez, and Naby Keita can shake off their muscular problems.

They are now at the most bottom part of the league table at the 20th, with just 21 points. Bournemouth is currently at the drop zone, but if they are lucky enough to win in this game, they could climb up to the 16th spot. They are coming from a 3-2 defeat against Arsenal in their last match. This squad is actually with a two-goal lead on the last 30 minutes of the game. However, they were not able to protect that lead, which eventually gives them their defeat. In their last 12 games across all competitions, they only won just once, and are coming in this game from back-to-back defeats. As they play in this match, they are hoping to overturn the results.

Jefferson Lerma, and Hamed Traore are both missing this game, following their muscular tightness. Matias Vina, David Brooks, and Junior Stanislas are all expected to miss this match as well.
