Ivan Juric was fired by AS Roma as their manager, after just 12 matches in the Premier League, following their recent loss. Roma lost in four of their last five matches in the Premier League, one of the reasons of this decision. Under Juric‘s leadership with Roma, the club have been underwhelming, which result to him being relieved. Juric became the Serie A’s side second manager that Roma fired this season, after failing to meet their expectations. Moreover, Roma released this statement through their official website, thanking him for his hard work for the club. Currently, there are talks that former Italy coach, Roberto Mancini are in talks with the club owners to take over.
Ivan Juric relieved from his Roma duties
Juric was appointed in September to become the club’s third coach in eight months after sacked Daniele De Rossi. Furthermore, De Rossi, who spent nearly two decades at Roma, was appointed as head coach in January after Jose Mourinho was fired. With that, Juric, formerly coach at Torino, Hellas Verona, and Genoa, started with consecutive home wins against Udinese and Venezia in the league and a 1-1 draw against Athletic Club in the Europa League. However, his man-to-man marking sat uneasily with a side that preferred a possession-oriented approach with more freedom to create opportunities. An announcement will be made in the coming days.
In a statement, they express their gratefulness to Juric. “We would like to thank Ivan Juric for his hard work these past few weeks. He handled a difficult environment with the utmost professionalism, and for that we are grateful. We wish him all the best in his future endeavors,” they said. Moreover, reports mentioned that currently, Roberto Mancini are in talks with the club owners to take over.
