Houston Rockets battle with pride

The Houston Rockets meets a struggling Golden State Warriors, aiming to resume their winning run, despite being eliminated. Surprisingly, the Rockets are currently in a three-game winning run before their defeat against the Pelicans. A run that could have helped them with their chances in the playoffs if it came earlier, avoiding Rocket’s slump. The Warriors on the other hand are struggling recently, losing to three straight matches. If the Warriors continue to slump in their games, it will be no good for them as they might be at the disadvantaged on the playoffs. The Rockets will host this match on March 21, 2023, at 8:00 AM (GMT+8).

This will be the fourth and final meeting between these two teams this season. From the previous three meetings, it was the visitors who took home all the victory. These two teams are both from the West, but it is unfortunate that the hosts are already eliminated this season. It is not surprising though, given their performance throughout the season. From their 71 games, they only won 18, and 12 of those are from their home matches. On the other hand, the visitors are at the seventh of the standings winning 36 of their 72 matches. However, they are not doing well on the road, winning only seven of their 36 matches on the road.

The Rockets are now battling with their prides to at least make a statement in the league, despite being eliminated. They did not fail though as they had a winning run, proving the strength of their young guns. Despite having the second-worst record this season, they suddenly reeled three-straight wins, even beating the Pelicans. Their three straight wins are against the Celtics, Lakers, and Pelicans, teams that are capable of defeating them. However, this winning run came to an end when the Pelicans defeated them in a back-to-back match. Despite the loss, their coach applaud his guys for showing resilience on that match, playing well in both ends of the floor. Offensively, they are at the 29th with just 110.4 points per game, and 26th in defense, giving up 118.1 points per game.

Jalen Green and Kevin Porter Jr. leads the Rockets, contributing 21.7 and 18.6 points per game respectively. Moreover, they have no one unavailable in this game, so expect them to go all-out here.

The Warriors is the opposite of the Rockets as the defending champions are struggling recently, despite having Curry back for them. They are currently in a three-game losing streak, which kept them in the seventh of the Western Conference. On their last match, they suffered a 133-119 defeat against the Grizzlies, as their offense went cold. On that match, they collapsed on the fourth quarter. For Draymond Green, the main reason why they were defeated on their last match is because they are unable to make simple plays. They were able to get back on that match by making simple plays, but they made simple mistakes instead of simple plays. Despite of that, they are optimistic that they could continue coming back. They are at the second offensively with 118.3 points per game, but the 25th in defense, allowing 118.1 points per game.

The duo of Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson continues to lead the Warriors, as they are chipping in 29.8 and 21.9 points per game respectively. However, Kevon Looney is listed questionable in this game. Meanwhile, Rollins, Wiggins, Payton II, Iguodala, and Jerome are all unavailable in this game.
