This squad was unlucky as they are coming from a loss against the Thunder on their last meeting, a disappointing loss for them. Before that game, they are actually in a seven-game winning streak, and it is unfortunate that they were not able to extend it. Most of their game last match, they were trailing, even trailed as much as 24 points. Additionally, it is also unfortunate for them as Ja Morant got ejected even before the halftime. Although they scored 66 second-half points, it is still not enough for them to stage a comeback. They are 16th in the league when it comes to offense, scoring 114.6 points per game. As for their defense, they are the 5th, allowing only 109.9 points per game.

Since Morant got ejected on their last game, it was Dillon Brooks who led the Grizzlies. He scored 32 points, and four rebounds. Jaren Jackson Jr. also chipped in for the Grizzlies, scoring 16 points, with eight rebounds with just 28 minutes of action.

The Nuggets on the other hand are coming from a win against the Hornets, bouncing back after their loss against the Lakers. It was a close 119-115 win against the Hornets, all thanks to the heroic acts of Nikola Jokic. He exploded for 40 points, 27 rebounds, and 10 assists, making history as the only second in the league. Aside from him, only Wilt Chamberlain had that statistics. However, their free throw shooting in that match does not look good, missing 12 of their 34 attempts in that match. Luckily, they had 26 assists, and only 11 turnovers. Offensively, they are the third, averaging 116.7 points per game, and 28th in defense, giving up 115.6 points per game.

From their last two matches, Jokic both scored more than 40 points in those matches. He average 25.2 points per game, 10.9 rebounds, and 9.0 assists per game. He was phenomenal right now, averaging a nearly triple double performance.
