El Salvador is coming into this game from a 1-1 draw against South Korea, when they met for their friendlies match. That match is a preparation for El Salvador for their CONCACAF Gold Cup campaign. It was Alexander Roldan who equalized the match, by scoring a goal in the 87th minute of the contest. Moreover, they earned an automatic qualification in the Gold Cup, after finishing as one of the best eight teams in the contest. Over the past years, El Salvador actually improved a lot, especially being under the guidance of Hugo Perez. In fact, during the 2022 World Cup qualifiers, they had the opportunity to qualify, but their opponents are just too much for them. Although they finished at the second from the bottom in the qualifiers, they proved that they are a dangerous team in the coming years.

Joaquin Rivas, who is El Salvador’s top goal scorer in their previous Gold Cup, will not be part of tis match. With that, it is expected that their captain, Alex Roldan will be leading his squad, being one of the most experienced player.

Martinique is coming into this match with a 2-0 win against Puerto Rico on their last match, for the second round of the Gold Cup playoffs. It was Labeau, and Kevin Fortune who helped Martinique to score a win on that match. The goals that they secured earned Martinique the qualification for the contest. However, coming into this match, this squad does not have much luck when it comes to their opening games. From their last seven Gold Cup openers, they already lost to five, while conceding at least twice. This is already their eighth appearance in the contest, and their fourth successive qualification in the Gold Cup. However, when it comes to their matches, Martinique is at the disadvantage of being less experienced than their opponents. Despite of that, they will not let their opponents to intimidate them.

For their campaign, Martinique will rely on their captain, Daniele Herelle, as he is the most experienced player they have. Additionally, they also have Theo De Percin, who is also expected to lead this squad to victory.
