Denver Nuggets extend series lead

Denver Nuggets extend series lead

The Denver Nuggets is looking to extend their series lead against the struggling Phoenix Suns, when they meet for their Game 3. Games 1 and 2 were won by the Nuggets, and they now want to make it to three-game lead. The Suns on the other hand is aiming to finally record a win here. If they suffer a defeat in this game, it will be harder for them to recover, and win for three straight games. During Game 1, the Nuggets had a 125-107 win, and 97-87 win on Game 2. Suns actually had their chances to cut the deficit in Game 2, but they were not able to do so. Suns will now look for ways in order to defeat the Nuggets and stop Jokic from dominating them. This meeting will be on May 6, 2023, at 10:00 AM (GMT+8), with the Suns playing as hosts.

During Games 1 and 2, the Nuggets were able to prove why they are the team sitting at the top. There are a lot of guys who could step-up for their team, especially Nikola Jokic. In fact, during Game 2, Jokic had 39 points, 16 rebounds, and 5 assists, in a 17 of 30 shooting. Despite the win, it is unfortunate that Jokic failed to receive contribution from Murray, who only went 3-for-15 in that match. Nonetheless, Nuggets still have a two-game lead coming into this match, an important lead for them. However, despite their advantage, Nuggets still cannot be complacent coming into this match. The Suns has a lot of guys who could explode anytime, which might be dangerous for them. If the Nuggets want to extend their lead, the other guys need to step-up, and the secondary scoring needs to be consistent. Consistency will be Nuggets’ key to seal the Game 3.

Collin Gillespie is still unavailable here, as he has yet to recover from his leg injury. Nikola Jokic, and Jamal Murray on the other hand will continue to lead the Nuggets. These two scores 27.7, and 25.7 points per game respectively.

The Suns can no longer afford to lose in this match or they will face early elimination. Now that they are down by two games, other members of the team, aside from Durant and Booker needs to step-up. In fact, in Game 2, both Durant and Booker played over 44 minutes in that match. Additionally, they shot 56 of Suns’ 95 shots in that match, 58.9%. However, if only Durant and Booker will do wonders for the Suns, they cannot win their games. Additionally, aside from these two, only Ayton scored more than two points from their team. If the Suns will continue this kind of game, they might need to say goodbye for their conference finals chances. As the Suns host this match, they are hoping they could grab their homecourt advantage coming into this match. Additionally, they will need to hope that their two scoring leaders will not misfire in this important match.

Coming into this match, it is unfortunate that they will be without Chris Paul, as he could have been a huge help for them. With that, Devin Booker, and Kevin Durant, who scores 35.4, and 27.9 points per game, will lead their squad to victory.
