Girona and Athletic Bilbao wants to end their unfortunate run in La Liga as they want to go back earning more points in preparation for the playoffs. Their meeting will be on November 5, 2022, at 4:00 AM (GMT+8), where Girona welcomes Bilbao. The hosts are currently at the 17th place in the standings, and were not able to produce expected results. As for the visitors, they are at the 6th, but have slumped after a strong start. As these two teams are not having a good run, both wanted more wins to somehow improve their current standings.
These two teams only met four times where Bilbao is the one who has the advantage, winning three, compared to Girona’s one. That only one victory of Girona happened during the first time they met at their home. However, the hosts suffered defeats from their last three home games in the tournament. As for the visitors, they have not scored loss on their last seven away games. Additionally, this squad already won five away matches, their best since the 2017 season. Looking at these numbers, it is clear that the visitors still have the confidence going into this match despite being away from home.
Girona
Girona is lucky that they are still not included in the bottom three of the league right now. It is all thank to their home because most of their wins are from their home games. As they are headed home once again, they will take advantage of that, as they are in a crucial match. This game is their final match before the World Cup. They surprised everyone when their game against Real Madrid ended in draw, as it showed how capable they were. However, they have not won in seven games already. They gained only two points, which is obviously underwhelming.
Samu Saiz will be out for Girona, the same with Borja Garcia, and Ibrahima Kebe who are still recovering from their knee injuries. Juanpe remains out in this match, following his leg injury.
Athletic Bilbao
During their first seven La Liga matches, this squad managed to get five wins, but it all suddenly stopped. Now, they were only able to get two points from a possible 12 since the start of October. Luckily, Bilbao was able to defeat Villareal, bringing them to winning ways once again. Currently, they are just two points behind Real Betis, the fourth in the league table. If they win in this match, they could snatch the fourth spot, giving them opportunity to play in the Champions League.
After sustaining a hamstring problem in Barcelona, Ander Herrera is back for Bilbao, but there are no confirmations yet if he will start. However, Iker Muniain will not participate after experiencing an abdominal strain.

Athletic Bilbao (2.5)
