History of Asian Handicap
Asian Handicap originated in Indonesia, is a form of football/ soccer betting. Previously, the system was known as hang cheng by bookmakers in Asia. Until November 1998, Joe Phan, an Indonesia bookmaker asked a London-based journalist, Joe Saumarez Smith to coin an English name by replacing the old one for English market. Therefore, Asian Handicap name was formed and this system was very popular in the early 21st Century. It increases the winning chances by eliminating draw outcomes and leaving only two betting options which bring a 50% chance of success.
